France suffers double blow before Euro 2012 qualifying match
Amongst the European heavyweights, other from Portugal, France is in the most dangerous position for not qualifying for the Euro 2012. They are still topping the Group D, but Bosnia-Herzegovina is trailing by only a single point. Under such circumstances, France will miss two of their most renowned midfielders in the next two qualifying matches against Albania on Friday and Bosnia-Herzegovina on next Monday. Both of these are very important and possibly will seal France’s fate.
Franck Ribery is suffering from injuries on both of his calves, whereas, Blaise Matuidi has a left thigh injury, as confirmed by the scans. They are not the only ones to miss the next couple of matches though. Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema and Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna are already out due to groin injury and broken leg respectively.
Bacary Sagna has been replaced by Mathieu Debuchy, however, France coach Laurent Blanc has not yet confirmed whether he is seeking replacements for other three injured players or not.
