Jim Tressel resigns as football coach of Ohio State

Jim Tressel will no longer be coaching the football team of Ohio State. Tressel, who helped Ohio State to win their first ever national title in the last 34 years; has resigned from the post of coach due to the recent infamous tattoo-parlor scandal and stated that he is leaving the post for the betterment of Ohio State. However, he also stated that he will continue to love the Buckeyes.

Hamid Karzai condemns civilian casualties caused by NATO

The recent NATO air-strike in Afghanistan killing 14 Afghan civilians has been condemned by Hamid Karzai, the president of the country. Karzai also stated that his Government will no longer allow the NATO forces to kill innocent people and if such things continue happen, they will have no other option but to take appropriate measures. However, he did not clearly mention the measures that his Government intends to take.

French Open 2011: Djokovic reaches quarters

Novak Djokovic is surely on a roll. The Serbian world number 2 has now won his 41st straight match in this 2011 season after getting past crowd favorite 13th seed Richard Gasquet. Djokovic won the match in straight sets: 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. Cannes film festival 2011 winners get box office boost

It seems that Cannes glory is doing wonders for movies in the US box office. “The Tree of Life” which received the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes film festival, saw a whopping $352,000 being collected on its opening weekend. Psychology Today apologizes for their Black woman post

After publishing a blog post where black women were stated to be less physically attractive than the other, Psychology Today faced huge mass outrage. The popular magazine published an article written by Satoshi Kanazawa, the evolutionary psychologist where it was stated that black women objectively are less attractive, but subjectively, they consider themselves to be more attractive. Two prominent attorneys have been appointed by Lance Armstrong, the 7 time Tour de France champion to deal with the case where Armstrong has been accused of having drugs while participating in Tour de France. Scotty McCreery wins American Idol 2011

For four years in a row now, American Idol has got a male winner. Scotty McCreery, the fan-favorite from the very beginning, has won the competition after getting 122 million more votes than his competitor, Lauren Alaina.
