Birmingham city carling cup winners after defeating Arsenal

Arsenal’s dreams of holding the Carling Cup trophy was shattered as the underdog Birmingham City clinched their first ever trophy in the last 48 years after defeating Arsenal 2-1.  Alex McLeish, the Birmingham City manager, who had an envious managerial record of winning 7 trophies for Rangers, the Scottish giants, described this victory as the triumphant on them all. Alex McLeish clearly mentioned that when he was with Rangers, he was expected to win titles, but the feeling of winning for Birmingham is something entirely of another world.

Libya is still under fire! Despite the number of protestors growing each day, Moammar Gadhafi, the ruler of the country for around 40 years is yet to quit. Leave quitting, he is still claiming that most of the countrymen are with him and it is only a small group of rebels who are demanding end of his dictatorship. Pro-Gadhafi supporters are also labeling the rebels as supporters of Osama Bin Laden and hence trying to create a wrong image for them in front of the world.
No matter, whatever Gadhafi claim, …

Google Algorithm Changes 2011: Slaps Web 2

Google has changed its ranking equation again. The motivation was to provide users with more quality results because there have been too many complaints recently about spam. Well, let’s take a closer look.
My monitoring software showed a significant decline in rankings of many Web 2 (e.g. social media) sites which a lot of people, who do not have a website, use for marketing and publication purposes. Ezinearticles.com, for example, has experienced a severe blow. Many of its articles with little or no “backlink juice” have dropped or totally disappeared from …

Togetherville – Disney has bought it

Togetherville – the very much popular social network game for children has been bought by the Walt Disney Co. Arsenal is set to meet another EPL side Birmingham City this Sunday in the League Cup Final; but Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott are expected to stay outside the ground after their injury. Wenger, however, believes Arsenal can still do it without these two players.
This will be Wenger’s first shot to a major title this season.  But the fans’ championship dream was rocked after Fabregas’ hamstring injury. He picked it up during their …

Google just loves to discipline webmasters… big and small, new and experienced “gurus” – all are dancing to the Google’s tune and the search engine masters are loving every minute of it.
They have a great excuse: improving the user’s experience. Using this argument as a cover, they can basically do whatever to suite their goals. And what are the goals? Profits. Many of us are forgetting that Google is not a non-profit. It is a public corp with stakeholders. To make them happy, Google has to maximize its share …

Academy awards 2011 nominees waiting for Sunday

The Academy Awards is on Sunday and it seems Hollywood has declared a battle of the ages where familiar faces are trying themselves against the fresh ones and the old against the young. For example; there are 10 movies in the best picture category, but the two most favorite movies are “The King’s Speech” and “The Social Network”. The first is a costume drama with British accents that oozes the typical Oscar tradition where as the later one is a Facebook chronicle that narrates the crude, rude world of today.
