Angelina Jolie considering a new role at United Nations agency
Angelina Jolie has started discussion with U.N. refugee agency and is considering a more important role as the goodwill ambassador. The world famous actress has served as the globe-trotting ambassador for the agency and during her tenure of 10 years; she has visited more than a dozen of countries. Under the worldwide crisis of refugee problem, she is discussing with U.N. agency how her role can be expanded.
According to reports, Jolie is interested in becoming a part of the special envoy in Afghanistan to deal with the refugee crisis that is affected by Afghans fleeing to Iran or Pakistan. Antonio Guterres, the High Commissioner at United Nations for Refugees confirmed the news and also stated that they intend to use the expertise of the famed actress for mobilizing strong international support.
According to Jolie, refugees are the most vulnerable group of people in the entire world and at the same time, they are the most resilient as well. She will be very pleased to do something good for these survivors, she added.
